Overview

The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at SHN is seeking Acute Care Surgeons to join a team of dedicated general surgeons and staff. The successful candidate will be working with a strong, supportive and collegial group of colleagues in a three-site community hospital organization committed to providing high quality, comprehensive clinical services. ACS surgeons will be rotating through all 3 SHN sites and will be responsible for providing surgical care of Emergency patients as well as inpatients from other hospital departments as required. Dedicated OR and clinic time will be provided on a weekly basis to the ACS service. Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to work within interdisciplinary teams. Experience in Quality Improvement is also an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical care for Emergency patients as well as inpatients from other hospital departments as required across all SHN sites.
• Rotate through three SHN sites; maintain dedicated OR and clinic time weekly for the ACS service.
