Responsibilities

• Supervise your assigned shift and coordinate activities of unionized hourly employees.
• Ensure safety of all employees; lead a comprehensive safety program to prevent injuries.
• Comply with all applicable provincial and local environmental and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Use resources efficiently to manufacture quality products at the lowest possible cost.
• Support quality initiatives to ensure product meets or exceeds customer expectations.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S with safety, 6 Sigma, KAIZEN events and lean manufacturing.
• Build and maintain productive employee relationships, driving employee satisfaction; provide direction, training and development as needed.
• Provide coaching, counseling, or discipline as required.
• Participate in daily production meetings.
• Prepare and approve required shift documentation such as production reports and timecards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
