The Position
We’re looking for a Chief Operating Officer to join our team at our Head Office in Riverview, NB. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will effectively and profitably manage the company’s day‑to‑day operations in support of established policies, goals, and objectives, providing leadership, strategic direction, and vision.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to establish short‑ and long‑term goals for the organization
- Support strategic initiatives and market expansion opportunities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Board, offering operational and risk insights to inform decision‑making
Operational Oversight
Drive operational effectiveness by designing, implementing, and improving processes that support growth and efficiencyMonitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with strategic objectivesCollaborate across departments to streamline operations, resolve bottlenecks, and strengthen cross‑functional communicationOversee real estate, lease agreements, and facilities managementHuman Resources (HR) Oversight
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies and practices aligned with strategic prioritiesLead the HR team on talent planning, recruitment, retention, compensation, and performance managementFoster a culture of engagement, inclusion, and high performanceOversee the design and procurement Group Benefit PlanMarketing Oversight
Lead the development and execution of marketing campaigns and sponsorships to support strategic prioritiesWork closely with the Brand Specialist to ensure consistent, effective brand messaging across all platformsOversee the annual marketing budget and ensure effective allocation of resourcesSales Leadership
Lead, motivate, and support the sales team to consistently meet or exceed targets to align with strategic prioritiesPartner with the sales team to develop and execute strategies to drive business growth
Monitor market trends and sales data to identify opportunities and informed decision‑makingClaims Oversight
Provide oversight to the company’s claims departmentOffer coaching and career development support to the Claims LeaderStay informed on industry trends and claims‑related developments to guide continuous improvementQualifications
Post‑secondary education in business administration or a related field5+ years of progressive leadership experienceExperience in the insurance industry is preferredProven experience leading cross‑functional teams, including claims, HR, marketing, and operationsExceptional problem‑solving, analytical, and strategic thinking abilitiesExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsStrong capability in change management and driving organizational improvements in fast‑paced environmentsDemonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Board, regulators, and external partnersBilingualism (French and English) is an assetWhat We Offer
