Accountant

REPORTING TO: The Senior Accountant in the Treasurer Department.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for financial reporting for Projects and Programs;
• Collaboratively work with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure the project reporting expectations are clearly defined and understood;
• Support in the preparation of audit working papers and be involved in the yearly audit;
• Responsible for the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations;
• Prepare and analyze reports required by the Treasurer’s Department;
• Assist in the Budget Process with regards to collection and analysis of financial data;
• Assist in the preparation of Treasurer department presentations;

Qualifications:

• University Degree – BComm, major Accounting;
• Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience;
• Good communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) and SAGE;
• Reliable, autonomous, and highly motivated;
• Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines;
• Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures;
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills;
• Good team player;
• Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
