Your Key Responsibilities
Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient mannerInforms customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product lineAnswers phone calls, providing price quotes and other informationReviews body shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimateProvides high level of service to internal and external customersPulls and fills orders from stockNotifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attentionLocates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessaryNotifies the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been receivedNotifies the body shop when all parts have arrived and when they will be deliveredPulls orders for delivery to body shop, making sure all parts are tagged with customer names and job numberFollows up on back-ordered partsVerifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or requiredReplenishes assigned inventory dailyAssists outside sales representatives with their ordersMakes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orderReceives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorizationEnsures that all charge sales are signed by the customerEnsures that all customers receive their copy of the invoiceIssues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verifiedIssues and tracks requested shop tools to techniciansKeeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order partsSets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-upSolicits assigned accounts by phoneKeeps front and rear counter areas clean and unclutteredCleans computer terminals and printers dailyParticipates in all training programs that are made availableKeeps current on new products and product updatesParticipates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking programMaintains professional appearanceYour Capabilities and Credentials
3-5 years parts counter, technician or equivalent experience (FCA experience preferred)Completion of a related post-secondary program and or training courses is considered an assetExperience with CDK, MPI Edge and Star Parts is considered an assetA detailed understanding of Parts and Service operations and inventory managementA well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsA person of professionalism and high integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honours their commitmentsDetail oriented, self-motivated and resourcefulHigh-level skills in Word, Excel and MS Office etcAbility to meet physical demands such as heavy lifting, standing for long periods of timeMust possess a valid drivers license and have a safe driving history
