We’re looking for a strategic, collaborative, and compelling Director Corporate Communications to join our WEBTOON Entertainment PR & Communications team for a one-year contract. Reporting into the Head of PR & Communications, you will lead a team managing WEBTOON Entertainment’s corporate PR strategy, advertising communications, executive profile, issues management, and quarterly earnings communications. This is a high impact role, one that is critical in supporting the company’s work to grow our corporate brand.

Please note: This is a 12-month fixed-term employment opportunity hired under Wattpad Corp., primarily focused on supporting WEBTOON Entertainment corporate communications initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

• Oversee our in-house team Corporate Communications team and agency partners
• Work with the Head of Communications to execute all U.S.-focused corporate communications strategies for WEBTOON, supporting our work with U.S. business, tech, and financial media. This includes managing proactive storytelling, reacting swiftly to critical issues, and ensuring consistent messaging alignment with U.S. market trends and regulatory expectations.
• Build and execute a high-impact communications strategy to grow our Corporate brand among B2B audiences, including the oversight of WEBTOON’s LinkedIn content program
• Manage executive thought‑leadership, including securing and managing public event appearances for WEBTOON’s Leadership Team at major technology, business and culture events all over the world
• Develop compelling narratives that reinforce WEBTOON’s leadership in digital entertainment, storytelling innovation, and the creator economy, including the development of speeches, panel remarks, and op‑eps for executive spokespeople
• Partner with Investor Relations and leadership to ensure alignment between corporate storytelling and financial narrative and support quarterly earnings cycles with messaging development, media engagement, and executive preparation
• Lead communications planning and execution for the launch of high‑profile global partnerships with leading entertainment brands, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver coordinated announcements and media moments
• Work with the WEBTOON Ad Solutions team to support ongoing media outreach and storytelling
• Create a strong pipeline of media pitches and opportunities that generate a steady stream of positive media coverage in Tier‑1 business and tech outlets
• Build and nurture relationships with top US journalists and media outlets around the world to help tell WEBTOON’s story
• Anticipate and manage reputational risks and challenges
• Manage corporate communications project budget and investments in paid media
• Media train WEBTOON Entertainment spokespeople, setting up our teams for success whenever they talk about our business

What we're looking for:

• 10+ years in Public Relation roles, with Public Company experience: you are an accomplished domain expert and have experience leading teams
• Demonstrated ability in supporting Investor Relations functions, including drafting key financial messaging, collaborating with IR, and ensuring consistent communication across corporate and financial stakeholders.
• Deep expertise managing corporate communications with the U.S. national and financial press, coupled with demonstrable experience navigating communications related to regulatory bodies and complex legal matters.
• You are strategic and able to translate business needs into actionable PR strategies that positively impact the business and the team
• You are calm under pressure; able to cut through the noise and distraction during key moments of crises to develop a strong point of view in how to diffuse negative or damaging press
• You understand business and financial media, press trends, and cultural movements, foreseeing how they may impact our business (positively or negatively) and plan to get ahead of them
• As a collaborative leader, you have an ability to work cross‑functionally to build and nurture relationships with all kinds of stakeholders from product to leadership to sales
• A strong negotiator and compelling communicator, you can convince almost anyone to pay attention to the WEBTOON Entertainment story
• You maintain and infuse your team with a high standard for writing, communication, and PR practice, paired with strong attention to detail
• You relish working with data & analytics, and are comfortable extracting insights to inform your PR and pitching approaches
• You appreciate structure and are able to oversee your team’s process, ensuring projects deliver on business needs

$140,000 - $185,000 a year
