Structural Steel Welder / Fabricator

We're seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welder / Fabricator to join a high-volume fabrication environment. You'll handle fit-up, layout, and code-compliant welding of beams, columns, stairs, handrails, platforms, and miscellaneous metals.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop drawings, welding symbols, and blueprints (imperial / metric).
• Perform fit-up, layout, and tack of structural members to tight tolerances.
• Weld using FCAW / GMAW (MIG) and SMAW (Stick) in flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead positions to AWS D1.1 / CWB standards.
• Fabricate components : cut, bevel, drill, cope, and prep using oxy-fuel / plasma, saws, ironworker, grinders .
• Verify dimensions; maintain quality with gauges, squares, levels, tapes.
• Follow WPS and complete welds to specification; assist with rework as needed.
• Rig, move, and position steel safely (basic rigging / overhead crane use).
• Keep a clean, organized work area; complete production and QC documentation.
• Adhere to all safety policies and wear required PPE .
