TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handling Engineering Lead role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a full-time permanent position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.
Responsibilities: - Review and approve vendor lists, prepare quotation requests, bid tabulations, and purchase orders.
- Supervise and Lead the design of conveyors, perform calculations, and determine drive and take-up details.
- Manage project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other baseline documents.
- Supervise the development of material handling designs for crushing and screening facilities.
- Authorize trade-off study reports comparing technical and commercial aspects.
- Size storage stockpiles and bins, and design reclaim arrangements.
- Lead the review of vendor equipment documentation.
- Assign work to teams, monitor progress, and manage scope of work.
- Create and review material handling equipment specifications and design criteria.
- Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors into design.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Over 15 years of experience in bulk material handling engineering and design.
- Mining background is a must.
- At least 10 years in leadership role.
- Professional certification or registration with a recognized engineering association.
- Proficient in reading drawings, PFDs, and P&IDs.
- Enthusiastic about learning and contributing in a team environment.
- Strong English communication skills for interacting with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Ability to work in the office, with potential for remote work based on experience.
- Preferred: Advanced knowledge of belt conveyor standards (CEMA, ISO, DIN) and design software (Sidewinder, Newton), plus practical field experience.
