As the Shop Foreman , you’ll play a key leadership role overseeing daily shop operations while remaining hands‑on when needed. You’ll ensure quality control, manage workflow, and support technicians in diagnosing and repairing heavy‑duty trucks and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations in the shop and assign work to techniciansPerform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy‑duty trucks and equipmentProvide technical guidance and support to journeyman and apprentice techniciansConduct quality control checks and ensure repairs meet OEM and safety standardsSupport Service Manager in scheduling, prioritizing work orders, and meeting deadlinesMaintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with the parts and service teamsAssist in training and mentoring apprenticesPromote a positive and safe work environmentEducation & Certifications
Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification (required)CVIP License (strong asset)Class 1 or 3 driver’s licence (asset)Experience
5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Heavy Duty TechnicianPrevious leadership or foreman experience in a dealership or fleet environment (preferred)Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (Detroit Diesel and / or Cummins experience an asset)Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor othersStrong communication and organizational skills3 Things to Be Successful as a Shop Foreman
