Job Title : Front Desk Agent

Location : Halifax, NS

Reports To : Front Desk Manager

The Front Desk Agent serves as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring they have a seamless and pleasant experience from check-in to check-out. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle various administrative and operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Services

  • Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival and departure.
  • Perform check-ins and check-outs efficiently while adhering to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Address guest inquiries and provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
  • Handle guest complaints and concerns professionally, escalating unresolved issues to management when necessary.

Administrative Tasks

  • Manage room reservations and maintain accurate records in the property management system (PMS).
  • Process payments, including cash, credit cards, and other forms of transactions securely and accurately.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of room rates, special packages, and promotions.
  • Ensure all guest requests (e.g., wake-up calls, extra amenities) are communicated and fulfilled promptly.
  • Operational Support

  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure rooms are ready for occupancy.
  • Monitor lobby areas for cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist with other front office duties as assigned by management.
  • Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using reservation systems and basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
