JOB OVERVIEW :
Responsible for overseeing maintenance operations and upgrades for the exterior and interior facilities, including electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling, structural, ground care and overall smooth operation within the hotel.
You will take a proactive, hands-on, preventative approach to maintaining the hotel.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO :
- Responsible for the daily departmental activities, communicating policies, training staff, and building maintenance, inspections, routine and non-routine repairs and preventive maintenance on guest rooms, boilers, life safety, and electrical and mechanical distribution systems to ensure customer satisfaction with client service requests.
- Dispatch and direct associates for building maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC / plumbing / electrical issues, and oversee hotel physical operations.
- Establish and maintain procedures to ensure security of inventory and assets, replenish supplies efficiently, and minimize waste.
- Manage inventory security, respond to guest inquiries, monitor budgets, and interact with guests, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- To coordinate, distribute, and review daily service and weekly preventive maintenance work orders and maintenance record logs, time sheets, labour, and material charges.
- To undertake special projects and other duties as assigned by Management / General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS :
- Building Environmental Systems Class I&II or equivalent certification.
- Three years of building maintenance experience required; hotel environment preferred.
- Minimum three years of combined mechanical, electrical, and life safety experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience using computerized word processors, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Demonstrated knowledge of manual and computerized financial and accounting operations and systems
- Must have a high degree of organization and the ability to multitask.
- Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills to deal tactfully with hotel clients & staff.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical data.
- W.H.M.I.S. Training Certificate
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
This job requires ability to perform the following :
- Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
- Remain stationary for extended periods of time
- Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
- Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and crawling
