Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the shop floor production employees, working with the Business Solutions scheduler to ensure deliveries are made on time and within quality guidelines while adhering to all GDCAEP processes and procedures; monitoring and evaluating production records, identifying opportunities for improvement and performing staff disciplinary actions; providing support to Supervisors and Managers within the facility to meet departmental objectives and goals, ensuring that all employees work in a safe manner and follow all Environmental Health and Safety regulations and company policies and procedures as well as developing the annual cost center and headcount budgets and forecasts in conjunction with senior management, managing and reconciling monthly, any deviation from the approved budget and forecast.

Monday through Friday, 3 : 00 pm - 11 : 15 pm
Responsibilities
- Use the Time Management System (Dayforce) as per GDCAEP procedures
- Monitor direct reports attendance patterns using Dayforce entries
- Communicate daily objectives and goals to the production team based on the schedule
- Ensure the production staff produces the highest quality products for the customer in accordance with quality guidelines
- Participate in a daily update meeting for all production staff
- Control direct reports overtime
- Ensure on-time delivery of all scheduled / planned orders by verifying the confirmation of orders in the IQ system
- Encourage, identify and implement continuous process improvements
- Work with the department trainer and help direct cross-training initiatives to the production staff
- Provide training opportunities to all direct reports
- Monitor team performance on an ongoing basis, provide yearly Performance Appraisals (PA’s) Reviews and implement corrective action performance measures as required, to meet productivity and behavioural workplace standards
- Responsible for promoting adherence to all Security, ISO and Health and Safety programs, processes and procedures
- Maintain adequate metrics to ensure levels of performance are known and improved upon
- Ensure through training and daily audits that safe practices are constantly employed throughout the facility
- Review order exception reports (Non-Conformance Reports – NCR’s) to identify the root cause and take appropriate corrective action
- Approve and monitor direct reports on vacation schedules, ensuring departmental procedures are being followed
- Complete a daily Shift Handover Report for the passing of information between shifts
- Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of their work area
