Company Overview :

Tiercon Corp. is an automotive supplier committed to the design, manufacture and assembly of quality exterior trim and assembled systems used as original equipment in the automotive market. Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as an Accountant at one of our Stoney Creek facilities. This is a current opening.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure :

The primary function of this role is to support the month end and year end processes while reporting to the Controller.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and post month end and adhoc journal entries
  • Commitment to timely reporting
  • Prepare and analyze month end financial statements
  • Reconciliation of banks and credit cards
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly and analyze variances, ensuring accuracy and integrity of accounts
  • Maintain fixed assets records, recording additions and disposals, and calculating monthly amortization
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts
  • Assist in preparing detailed weekly and monthly financial reporting of sales, material, labour, variable overhead and freight and provide analysis
  • Assist in annual audit, preparing supporting schedules and analysis as required
  • Assist in tax filings, including monthly HST return
  • Assist in accounts payable, including capital and tooling
  • Review reporting and analysis with the plant staff to drive actions for improvement
  • Work closely with the plants to drive improvement of processes as required
  • Adhoc analysis of accounts, inventory, production data, sales, costs and variances as required
  • Participate in annual inventory count - recording inventory counts, analyzing variances

Qualifications :

  • Post secondary education in a related field is preferred (Accounting or Business) OR equivalent work experience
  • Equivalent work experience : 10 years+ of demonstrated core accounting experience.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated advanced MS office skills
  • Strong communication and team building skills
  • Assets : Manufacturing experience, Working knowledge of ERPs
