We’re looking for a Harvesting Superintendent to join our Northwest Regional Woodlands Team with officeslocated in High Prairie and Slave Lake, Alberta . Our Northwest Regional Woodlands Team operates Tolko's forest resources in northwestern Alberta, including timber harvesting, silviculture, and forest management and log yard activities.We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there. Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications :
- Minimum of 5- years of related experience in forest harvesting operations;
- University Degree or Technical Diploma in Forestry;
- Active Registered Professional Forester or Forest Technician designation;
- Strong understanding of Alberta forest policies, guidelines, and regulations;
- Proven ability to work with contractors, Indigenous Communities and external stakeholders;
- Computer skills and significant experience with the Microsoft suite of products as well as LIMS.
- Possess a positive attitude, self-initiative and motivation;
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accountability;
- Must be a strong team player with exceptional organization, communication, supervisory and interpersonal skills.

In this role you will :
Lead a team of forestry professionals , with oversight for all day-to-day activities within the Harvesting department.Interface with other Tolko Woodlands departments, contractors, Indigenous Communities and Government agencies, private land owners and other key stakeholders .Maintain accountability for harvesting rate development and negotiations with our valued contractor workforce.Execute on Tolko’s NRW purchase wood program, including salvage opportunities , and identifying and securing private lands for harvesting.Oversee Tolko's High Prairie log yard operations.Be empowered to manage priority initiatives and schedule your time accordingly so you can enjoy the benefits of a flexible schedule.So, what’s in it for you?
