Shackleton Duke Ltd are pleased to announce, that in conjunction with our client a leading Developer based in Ontario, we are currently looking to hire a  Superintendent / Concrete Specialist  to join there team for a HIGH – RISE CONDO DEVELOPMENT DOWNTOWN

The right individual would posses experience in – CONCRETE BASE AND STRUCTURE, RC Frame, Building Envelope & Glazing built structures – Please Note OUR client is only wanting individuals with CONDO build, years experience with / full life cycle CONDO builds under there belt

Ideally you will come from a Developer (Self performing) who can operate at Lead for Developer or GC, work closely with affiliated Developers and GC’s and Subs

Superintendent Performance Objectives

  • Manages all facets of construction including communication with Owners, Developers. General Contractors Consultants and Sub-trades
  • Supervises all sub-trades, suppliers and on site personnel to ensure work is being done in accordance with their scope of work
  • Attends to complex or unique issues which may arise internally or externally

Superintendent Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for onsite construction plan including schedule and logistics
  • Works in conjunction with construction site safety personnel to keep site safe and in an orderly state to meet or exceed WorkSafe regulations
  • Reviews all General Contractors, Construction Sub-trade scopes of work in order to gain a firm understanding of work to be performed
  • Reviews all RFI’s and SI’s in a timely manner and communicates any issues or changes to those involved
  • Reviews and understands shop drawings
  • In conjunction with construction project team, maintains and drives the schedule with a focus on work sequence ensuring milestones and deadlines are being met
  • Ensures project materials are ordered and supplied
  • Conducts daily site inspections to ensure work is being done in accordance with building and safety regulations and that quality standards are maintained
  • Ensures that project is being built in accordance with plans, specifications and shop drawings
  • Completes and submits daily Superintendent Reports
  • Works with Project Manager and Sub-trades to ensure project is progressing within budget
  • Communicates with Project Manager on a daily basis regarding any concerns, issues or conflicts
  • Reviews additional work by Sub-trades / Suppliers with Project Manager prior to authorization
  • Coordinates site inspections with Consultants and municipal authorities including final Occupancy Inspections
  • Conducts weekly Sub-trade meetings to monitor progress and address any concerns
  • Maintains a good working relationship and open communication with Owner, sub-trades, suppliers, site personnel and fellow employees
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum of  years experience with / full life cycle CONDO builds under there belt
  • College or Trade qualifications in a construction related field
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Projects
  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work well with others and be efficient in problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Good attention to detail and creative problem solving ability
