As a Project Director working in the Building and Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will be the driving force in spearheading our ambitious initiatives to meet and exceed project goals, execution, and workforce management. Managing large-scale building and infrastructure projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.

What You Will Do

  • Proactively grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
  • Support project management teams in developing and driving construction schedules to meet or exceed completion dates and milestones.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to recommend innovative methods that increase effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring project excellence and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with our first-class Quality Program through proactive measures.
  • Utilize experience in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities.
  • Manage project budgets, costs, and purchasing, applying financial management expertise.
  • Mentor and role model to project teams, providing coaching and guidance for career advancement.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Compile and complete company-wide project reports for executive teams and clients.
  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on projects, applying relevant standards and regulations.

This role could be for you if you have

  • 8-10+ years of experience working on large-scale construction projects.
  • A university degree or diploma in Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong business acumen, knowledge of project management methodologies, financial management, Canadian building codes, and related legislation.
  • Experience in the construction industry with a solid understanding of project methodologies, financial management, and building codes.
  • A proven track record in team leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
  • The ability to influence others effectively and resolve diverse client, project, and technical issues.
