We are looking for a technically strong, solid and creative engineering manager with a successful track record of managing a team of skilled, innovative and passionate engineers for creating cutting-edge software solutions for hardware peripherals, including the adaptation of existing drivers for embedded platforms (driver development). You should know driver design, development and deployment inside and out. In this role, you will provide technical leadership to BSP development team, and your team will be responsible for creating software drivers to support next-gen hardware peripherals on some of the most advanced hardware platforms available. You must be someone with ideas and real passion for software delivered to maximize reuse, efficiency, and simplicity. Your work will affect millions of users and be essential to the success of QNX.

You will :
Expertise we’re looking for
Bootloader and board bring up knowledge such as u-boot / DRAM controller initialization, system clock configuration, GPIO & pinmux, and power management
Driver development experience for peripherals such as UART, i2c, SPI, CAN, SD, SATA / AHCI, Flash (NAND / NOR), etc.
Strong development experience to form a solid bridge between engineering members and management
Familiarity with developing software according to standards and guidelines such as ISO26262, IEC61508, MISRA-C, etc.
Experience developing and reviewing supporting artifacts such as : requirements documents, architecture documents, high-level and low-level design documents, etc.
A keen ability to help problem solve and identify solutions in complex systems
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, and must have minimum of 10+ years of experience with a proven track record in techno-managerial roles
7+ years of experience in Unix internals and embedded development experience using C and assembling language
3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role and people management experience
Proficient in embedded operating systems (QNX, Linux, GreenHills, VXworks preferred)
Experience targeting embedded systems on major processor architectures (ARM, x86, PPC, etc.)
Proven track record with complex architectural designs and handling of complex business situations and enterprise level software products
Very good exposure to DevOps concepts and tools, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
Strategic and Critical thinker to come up with ideas, and has the courage and perseverance to realize it
Experience in working with multi-cultural and multi-locations teams
Additional skills
Ability to handle ambiguity and collaborate across multiple groups and disciplines
Hands on experience in the development of software following either safety standards (ISO26262, IEC61508 etc.) or MIL standards would be a standout skill
Knowledge of software development processes, standards or guidelines (ASPICE, MISRA) as well as scripting and document generation tools (Python, LaTeX).
