About the work environment :

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8 : 00am and 4 : 30pm with flexibility around start / end times.

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto OR Vancouver office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance. This job is for an existing vacancy.

About you :

You are a motivated and focused individual with a team-oriented mindset who has experience providing a full range of compliance and regulatory services across various business lines. You have experience analyzing and problem-solving in addressing regulatory and policy issues, conducting research and analysis on a spectrum of matters, and engaging with all levels of business stakeholders. You are a natural problem-solver and use your knack for analysis when finding solutions. You thrive in a high-volume environment and enjoy the challenge of hitting deadlines and creating deliverables.

About you / qualifications :

  • Minimum of 1 year of progressive work experience in a compliance or regulatory role.
  • Proven ability to comprehend and produce technical documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with or within Financial Institutions.
  • Experience with compliance software and / or willingness to learn compliance software; CRM Onprem, D365.
  • Experience with working with various stakeholders within an organization – including management.
  • Strong proficiency with systems; Word & Outlook; Intermediate to advanced level of Excel (pivot tables, IF functions, Lookup functions).
  • Adaptable, flexible, innovative, and responsive to change.
  • Ability to grasp business concepts in a dynamic, fast paced, and multi-entity environment.
  • Knowledge of Trust & Loan Companies Act and regulations, Bank Act and regulations, Consumer Protection, AMF legislations will be considered an asset.

About the day-to-day :

  • Develop complaints monthly reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and submit reporting to regulators.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the complaints program.
  • Assess emerging regulatory changes to direct the business to their process enhancements.
  • Translate research into accessible materials and knowledge products in support of organizational priorities.
  • Review customer facing communications, advertising and disclosures for adherence to regulatory obligations.
  • Draft procedures in relation to applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory environment including review & analysis of regulatory announcements, reports, and legislative changes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with associations and industry representatives.
  • Develop materials for special projects as requested.
  • Annual Compensation :

    Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. In addition, we are pleased to offer employees both group benefits and the option to participate in our RRSP matching program, beginning the first day of employment. Salary for this position will vary between $60,000 and $70,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses. As part of our recruiting process, shortlisted candidates will be asked their salary expectations for this position.
