Financial Controller

We are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead the finance function for a growing Canadian business operating multiple locations nationally. This role will oversee all financial reporting, analysis, governance, and strategic financial support for the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, experience working with multi-unit operations, and a proactive business partnering mindset. The Controller will liaise closely with senior leadership teams both locally and internationally, and will manage relationships with outsourced service providers for transactional and operational accounting.

Key Responsibilities :

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the Canadian business
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and review outsourced operational accounting work
• Coordinate audit and tax engagements in partnership with external advisors
• Maintain internal controls and support continuous improvement of financial processes
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Provide leadership with insights on business performance, KPIs, and profitability of clinic locations
• Support decision-making through financial modeling and scenario analysis
• Partner with operational leaders to optimize financial outcomes and ensure accountability on budgets
• Oversee cash flow management and working capital requirements
• Review payroll, AP / AR, and revenue recognition processes executed by outsourced providers
• Support expansion initiatives including financial evaluations and integration of new locations
• Ensure accuracy and effectiveness of financial systems and data flows
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate or streamline reporting and accounting processes
• Champion best practices in finance operations
• CPA designation
• 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including strong financial reporting exposure
• Experience in multi-site consumer services, retail, hospitality, or healthcare environments preferred
• Skilled in partnering with senior leaders and communicating financial information clearly
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in remote and cross-functional settings
• Comfortable navigating outsourced / shared services models
• Advanced Excel and financial systems capabilities
• Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail
• Commercially minded with the ability to balance analytical depth and operational realities
• Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on
• Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills
