General Description

We are looking for an exceptional Field Application Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a can-do attitude, a commitment to lifelong learning, and is passionate about new technologies.

In this role, you will provide specialized engineering knowledge to ensure a successful customer experience with our products, from pre-sale stages through post-deployment support.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support : Provide hands-on support to customers during the implementation or integration of our products, troubleshooting issues, answering technical questions, and assisting with product configuration.
Product Demonstrations : Present product capabilities to potential customers, demonstrating how our solutions address their specific business or technical challenges.
System Testing : Conduct system-level testing to build expertise, set up test environments to replicate customer issues, and provide prompt solutions or recommendations.
Solution Design : Work closely with customers to design customized solutions using our products, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance within their unique environments.
Training and Education : Conduct comprehensive training sessions for customers on our systems and solutions, providing both formal training and informal guidance as needed.
Customer Feedback : Collect and communicate feedback from customers about the product, providing valuable insights to the product management and development teams to inform future improvements or updates.
Pre-Sales Support : Assist the sales team by offering technical insights during the sales process, helping tailor solutions to meet customer needs effectively.
Post-Sales Support : Provide ongoing technical support after deployment, ensuring smooth integration, optimizing performance, and promptly addressing any post-deployment issues.
Product Customization : Develop and apply programming knowledge to customize solutions for clients, addressing specific technical requirements where necessary.

Position Requirements

An undergraduate degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Networking and Telecommunications, Information and Communication Technology, or a related field.

Demonstrated success in a Field Application Engineering role or a similar product design or application engineering position (field or internal), with experience in both hardware and software domains.

Strong Python programming skills are preferred to assist with custom solutions and troubleshooting.

Ability to clearly communicate complex technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Proven ability to work under pressure, especially in response to customer issues and deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with network performance and cybersecurity testing is beneficial.

Industry experience in lighting or smart building technology is an asset.

Understanding of wireless mesh network topology is beneficial.

Willingness and ability to travel within Canada and the U.S. as required for client support and site visits.

A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
