Veterinary Nursing Assistant

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Assistant to join our busy team at Alma Veterinary Hospital!

The successful candidate will work a 37.5 hr week to support our dedicated nursing team in providing the highest standard of care to our patients and clients.For the right candidate this position could in the future open the opportunity to become a student Veterinary Nurse.

General duties will include :

• Basic animal husbandry
• Patient restraint for examination and basic procedures
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic environment throughout the hospital
• Running laboratory tests
• Preparation and maintenance of equipment and supplies
• Supporting the clinical team
• Supporting the reception / client care team
• Working closely with the nursing team to provide a high standard of nursing care to our patients
• Maintaining of patient and client records.
• Have 5 GCSE’s grade 4 and above to include English, Maths and Science
• Be able to work efficiently alone and as part of a team
• Have a passion and interest in animal care
• Be well motivated to work to a high standard
• Be flexible with attitude and working times
• Be reliable and able to use their initiative

Join our busy Veterinary Hospital in the heart of Windsor, which strives to provide gold-standard care to our patients and clients. We are a fully equipped first opinion practice seeing a wide range of surgical and medical cases. We have 4 consultation rooms, separate cat and dog waiting rooms and wards. As well as all the usual facilities of a first opinion practice, we have a dedicated dental suite, an imaging room, and a full in-house laboratory. Our hospital is very well equipped with a Karl Storz laparotomy tower, radiography, ultrasound, dental radiography, afull in-house laboratory, a Tonopen, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, orthopaedic equipment, ECG, Capnography and much more. We are proud to be the only practice within a 15-mile radius able to offer laparoscopic surgery to our patients.
