EMT (Primary Care Paramedic)
Job Description
Reporting to the Southwest EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service;
and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Basic Life Support level.
- The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to : Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards;
- Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws;
and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- CMA accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP / EMT / ICP / EMT-A) level
- Grade 12
- Health Care Provider Level C Certification (HCP-C)
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) - Basic
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the PCP / EMT level
- Valid Class 4 drivers license
Experience
Previous experience as a PCP is an asset.Instructor level certificates in BLS and ITLS is an asset.

- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
