Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join the Platform Programs team within the Fusion Platform organization under Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions (PDMS). This role drives programs that deliver the shared platform services and standards underpinning multiple products and workflows.
The Fusion Platform organization is on a multi-year journey to transform design-to-manufacturing workflows by converging cloud-based, device-independent, and highly scalable platform technologies. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will independently own and drive execution of complex, cross-organizational platform initiatives that span multiple Scrum teams and technical domains.
The Fusion Platform supports a hybrid-cloud architecture, spanning cloud services and rich client applications, which introduces unique scale, reliability, and delivery challenges. Reporting directly to the Director, Platform Programs, you will operate independently within a defined platform domain, with a high degree of autonomy and visibility. You will serve as the connective tissue between platform strategy, architecture, and execution across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
This role requires a highly proactive, judgment-driven approach, actively seeking out information, anticipating risks, and taking action without waiting for direction. Success in this role depends on the ability to work effectively across organizational silos, aligning teams with different priorities, incentives, and operating models toward shared platform outcomes. It also requires strong stakeholder empathy : the ability to understand differing perspectives, constraints, and motivations, and to use that understanding to build trust and alignment across teams.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-team platform programs within an assigned platform domain, from planning through release and adoption
Translate platform strategy and architectural intent into coordinated, actionable execution plans in ambiguous, evolving problem spaces
Proactively own and curate program-level visibility across multiple Scrum teams by pulling information, analyzing trends, and surfacing risks and insights early
Identify, track, and proactively resolve cross-team dependencies, systemic risks, and delivery blockers, escalating with clear impact when appropriate
Define, evolve, and enforce the program operating model for assigned initiatives, balancing standardization with team-level autonomy
Establish, maintain, and reinforce clear ownership and accountability across program stakeholders by defining roles, responsibilities, and decision boundaries (e.g., RACI, stakeholder maps)
Apply independent technical judgment to evaluate tradeoffs and surface implications for delivery, sequencing, and risk in partnership with Engineering, Architecture, and Product Management
Synthesize fragmented information into clear, executive-ready narratives that support timely, well-informed decisions
Use data, metrics, and AI-enabled tools to evaluate program health, track delivery trends, identify risks, and support informed decision-making, maintaining a high bar for accuracy and rigor in program artifacts and reporting
Drive adoption of platform technologies, standards, and best practices across contributing teams to maximize downstream value and consistency
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Technical Product Manager, or equivalent role
Proven experience independently leading large-scale, cross-team platform or systems programs in a fast-paced, Agile software development environment
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to engage deeply in engineering and architectural discussions and assess tradeoffs
Demonstrated ability to operate proactively in ambiguous environments, seeking out information, anticipating risks, and driving alignment without waiting for direction
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across organizational boundaries
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level communication
Passion for operational excellence, clarity, and continuous improvement
Experience leveraging Jira and Confluence to manage and communicate complex, multi-team programs
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and adapting in evolving technical and organizational environments
Ability to travel as required (less than 25%)
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a software engineering, systems engineering, or architecture role, or equivalent hands-on technical experience
Experience delivering platform, infrastructure, or systems-level software used by multiple product teams
Experience delivering software in hybrid-cloud or distributed system environments, including coordination across cloud services and client applications
Familiarity with Agile and Agile-at-scale frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, LeSS), with or without formal certification
Project or program management certification (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum), or equivalent demonstrated experience
Experience working on developer platforms, APIs, or shared services
Experience applying AI-assisted tools or analytics to proactively improve delivery predictability, operational efficiency, or program insight
