About the Role
Community Living Alternative Services (CLAS) is currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Day Support Worker (Community Disability Service Worker) in our Cochrane Community Program.
Position Summary
The Day Support Community Disability Service Worker is a front‑line community disability service role that has responsibility to support and facilitate the development of skills and competencies that will assist a person with disabilities to pursue and fulfil their goals, objectives and aspirations. This is generally done through community access, within community settings, as well as within the Cochrane Day Program building. A reliable vehicle and Class 5 (or better) driver’s licence will be required.
You will bring
Formal Education : Some Post Secondary Education is an asset. Formal training in CPR and First Aid is an asset.
Experience : A minimum of six (6) months experience in providing support and assisting with community access to adults with cognitive and / or developmental challenges. Experience dealing with complex behaviors is a must. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
