Summary : The Driver DZ will be responsible for safely operating straight trucks, tanker commercial vehicles and delivering goods to various customer locations while maintaining a high standard of customer service. This role involves loading and unloading cargo, ensuring timely deliveries, and complying with all company and MTO regulations.
Essential duties of Position :
- Safely operate straight trucks, tankers and other commercial vehicles that require a valid DZ license to transport products to customer locations across various routes. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods in accordance with customer expectations
- Assist in loading and unloading products at warehouse locations and customer sites. Ensure all cargo is secured properly and accurately matches order details
- Follow all safety protocols, including Canadian Commercial Vehicle Operators’ Regulations (CVOR) and Transport Canada guidelines. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety
- Complete all required paperwork, including delivery receipts, trip logs, and vehicle inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the company
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues as needed. Uphold the company’s professional image during all deliveries
- Plan delivery routes for maximum efficiency, considering factors like traffic, road conditions, and weather. Communicate with dispatch regarding any delays or route changes
- Monitor vehicle condition and report any issues or required maintenance to management. Keep the vehicle clean and in optimal working condition
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety standards, accident / incident reporting, and punctual delivery schedules
- Work closely with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and meet delivery deadlines
- Other duties assigned by management
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (required)One (1) – three (3) years of verifiable related experience and / or training (preferred)DZ endorsement (required)Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) a plusPossess a valid DZ license, and equipment certificationsProvide a Drivers Abstract (required)Clean driving record with no major violationsMust pass a pre-employment drug test and background checkAvailability to work flexible hours, including overtime and occasional weekends.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed :

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks related to loading / unloadingAbility to sit for long periods of time while drivingWillingness to work in various weather conditions
