SAP Finance Lead

Our client is seeking an experienced SAP Finance Lead to join their project from September 2025 and will run until August 2026, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience across key areas such as strong SAP FICO background, comprehensive payroll knowledge, and deep finance expertise. This is a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Finance (FI / CO) modules to meet business requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the SAP technical team to ensure alignment on financial processes and system capabilities.
• Oversee end-to-end project delivery for SAP Finance, including planning, testing, training, and go-live support.
• Drive process improvements and ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial regulations.
• Manage a team of SAP functional consultants and provide guidance on best practices, solution architecture, and issue resolution.
• Analyze and resolve complex system issues and provide ongoing support for SAP Finance-related activities.
• Collaborate with other functional leads (e.g., SAP MM, SD, HR) to ensure integration across modules.
• Lead workshops and gather business requirements for enhancements, upgrades, and new implementations.
• Understanding of payroll processes and their integration with SAP FICO
• Knowledge of wage type configuration, gross-to-net calculations, and tax reporting.
• Experience with SAP Payroll or third-party payroll system integrations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end / year-end closing processes in SAP.
• Knowledge of financial compliance requirements.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
