Job Overview
As a CBRE Commercial Refrigeration Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical equipment at multiple facilities. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, where you provide support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment, commercial refrigeration systems, and calibrate instruments, gauges, and control components.
- Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and workplace safety requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment failures and determine the best course of action for equipment modifications.
- Lead by example and demonstrate CBRE RISE values.
- Maintain quality of own work by following standardized procedures and meeting deadlines.
- Communicate clearly, ask questions, and check for understanding.
- Perform day‑to‑day repairs, emergency work, and preventive maintenance; keep maintenance records as required.
- Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials, order necessary supplies, and maintain inventory in the service vehicle.
- Utilize CMMS to manage work orders and track completion.
- Oversight and inspection of work performed by third‑party vendors.
Qualifications
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic – Journeyman Certificate or recognized trade credential from another Canadian province or territory (313A or Red Deal Endorsements) with 4‑5 years related experience.Preference for CO₂ commercial refrigeration system experience.Gas Technician (G1) and Gasfitter A (Class A) certification.Ozone Depletion Certificate (ODP).Valid driver’s licence.Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs / ladders, and lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.Capability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).Strong organizational skills and inquisitive mindset.Why Join CBRE
