What is the opportunity?

The Funding, Treasury and Liquidity technology group within RBC Capital Markets’ Quantitative and Technology Services organization is building out of a new funds transfer pricing to accurately allocate the cost of funding and liquidity raised by the firm to the consumers of those scarce financial resources. This is a new application build that will leverage core strategic frameworks and build out new flexible, extensible capabilities. You will work within a small team liaising with business analysts and business users directly. This is a hands-on development role with a real opportunity to learn the Capital Markets business.

What will you do?

As a senior developer you will implement strategic greenfield initiatives for Funding initiative to integrate with generic data processing pipeline

Code, test, debug, implement and support a strategic intraday real-time Asset Liability Reporting

Be a mentor and technical leader to provide architecture oversight and technology steer for all ongoing and upcoming BOWs

Analyze, debug and resolve production issues related including but not limited to data flows, application performance, system latency and infrastructure and network products

Carry out data analysis & schema designs for Funding and Liquidity modernization applications

Collaborate with the wider CM community for input and review of approach / design

In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and / or employees located across Canada and / or worldwide

What do you need to succeed?

Must have :

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science with 3+ years of experience in software design and development with Java

Excellent knowledge of Spring Boot, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, threading & concurrency

Excellent knowledge of SQL, Solace, Hadoop ecosystem, Maven, Unix & other CICD development tools

Knowledge of developing distributed cloud applications (Docker / Kubernetes / Containerization)

Knowledge of version control systems like GitHub and build frameworks like TeamCity / Jenkins / Artifactory

Nice-to-have :

Working knowledge of distributed / in memory caches like Apache Ignite

Prior experience in Python, enterprise DataLake concepts (S3, Iceberg, HDFS, Hive, Dremio toolkit)
