We are actively recruiting for the role of Senior Legal Manager , reporting to the Legal Senior Director – USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal support and advice across Tenaris’s business in Canada. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team that delivers on all legal matters including commercial, procurement, labour & employment, regulatory, corporate governance, and litigation
Please note : We are posting this position in both Calgary, AB and Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Only one Senior Legal Manager role will be filled, and the successful candidate will be based in either Calgary or Sault Ste. Marie, depending on business needs.
Responsibilities :
- Provide general advice and legal oversight of Tenaris’s business in Canada by working closely with all business functions
- Mentor, develop and train a more junior lawyer and work as part of the North American legal team
- Work directly with senior management, demonstrating sound judgment, professional communication style, practicality, and ability to manage expectations well.
- Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts and other legal documents with customers, suppliers, and other business partners
- Provide timely and responsive client service
- In partnership with other functional areas, draft and review various company policies
- Strategic day-to-day responsibility for the resolution of contractual issues, claims and disputes to support the commercial business while mitigating risk
- Assist in preparing standard terms and conditions
- Oversee litigation matters
- Work closely with the Human Resources department on labour and employment matters
- Oversee corporate governance and implement corporate structure changes
Qualifications :
JD or LLB from a recognized universityMember in good standing of the Law Society of OntarioPrevious experience managing people would be consider an assetExperience negotiating various contractsExcellent written, communication and interpersonal skillsGood commercial sense; practicality and proportionality in legal adviceAbility to explain technical matters so that they can be easily understood by non-lawyersWillingness and ability to manage a wide variety of legal issues across disciplinesStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionPossible occasional travelWhy Join Tenaris :
