Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in MEMS fabrication, vapor cell design, and microfabrication processes. This full-time role will involve hands-on work in our MEMS fabrication and surface science labs, supporting the development of advanced vapor cells for Rydberg atom-based radio frequency sensors and other cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, and optimize MEMS-based vapor cells for precision applications.
  • Operate and maintain MEMS fabrication equipment, including coating systems, bonding apparatus, and diagnostic tools.
  • Develop and implement novel bonding schemes and methods for vapor cell fabrication.
  • Perform characterization of vapor cells, including RF field distribution, Stark shifts, and scattering cross-sections.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including optical and RF engineers, to improve vapor cell performance.
  • Analyze and interpret data from diagnostic tools to refine fabrication processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the lab.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in MEMS fabrication or a related microfabrication environment.
  • Proficiency with MEMS fabrication techniques such as etching, coating, and bonding.
  • Familiarity with RF field measurements and vapor cell applications is a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
