Study Manager - Minerals and Metals - Toronto or Burlington (hybrid)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Study Manager to join our Minerals and Metals division at our Toronto or Burlington Office (hybrid).
The successful candidate will have a firm client focus, the ability to relate to clients and respond to their requirements, and the capacity to balance divergent and convergent thinking—combining innovative approaches with meeting scope, budget, and schedule.
Study Managers support our business development efforts by creating and building a regional presence while leveraging our extensive global process engineering experience and expertise.
About You
- Relevant experience in the mining industry
- Experience on a client/owner’s team or as a study manager, project manager, project engineer, engineering manager or lead engineer on several projects/studies
- Experience in engineering or project management in engineering consulting
- Excellent written, technical, and oral communications skills
- High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Willingness to travel when required
Responsibilities
- Lead mining project studies (from scoping to FR or FS level) while ensuring safety, quality, timeliness, and fit for purpose
- Collaborate with engineering teams and subject matter experts in Toronto and global offices to produce high-quality technical deliverables
- Understand client needs and goals and ensure the project team is aligned with those expectations
- Lead regular reviews and audits of study timelines, budgets and resources to identify issues and resolve them
- Assist establishing project strategy and monitor critical path schedules and deliverables; develop and maintain collaborative relationships with management, clients, team members and other stakeholders
- Ensure study and project risks are addressed and communicated to clients and Ausenco leadership
- Manage the development of project capex models and financial models to support client projects
- Comply with Ausenco minerals corporate policies and procedures, including Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies
- Lead the delivery of regulatory documentation such as NI 43-101 technical reports
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Studies Team to deliver best-practice solutions
