We’re seeking a dedicated administrative professional who will play a critical role in overseeing the development of real-world solutions for community partners through applied research and knowledge transfer projects related to the Community Impact Lab Network.

Key Responsibilities :
- Having primary responsibility for the overall intellectual direction of the Community research and / or research-related activity
- Using technical expertise in data analytics, community & economic development, policy analysis, and mixed method research to design concepts and detailed solutions for community and partner-led applied research projects
- Developing community participatory research plans, including methodology design, testing and evaluation frameworks, analysis, documentation, and project management
- Presenting community data intelligence and advises end users and senior leadership on results-based outputs
- Conducting mixed method quantitative and qualitative analysis to support decision making, identify project improvement and enable evidence-based policy and program design
- Providing practical, actionable solutions for applied research projects
- Ensuring execution of applied research projects in collaboration with college faculty, staff, community partner and / or industry partners
- Preparing dissemination strategies, final reports, knowledge mobilization materials, and assisting research assistants and students with documentation and reporting
- Leading follow-up interactions with partners and funders including data validation, refinement and communication of results
- Presenting findings at internal / external events, conferences and community forums
- Leading end-to-end development of departmental funding applications, including identifying opportunities, conducting background research, environmental scans, and alignment with funder priorities
- Developing complete grant packages including research design, methodology, community engagement strategies, evaluation frameworks, and knowledge mobilization plans
- Leading development of detailed project budgets, multi-year cash flow plans, in-kind contributions, and justification narratives
- Coordinating all internal approvals required for funding submissions (Director R&I, Finance, HR, Dean, Executive approval as needed)
- Acting as primary author for proposals, project descriptions, technical narratives, work plans, and logic models
- Ensuring proposals align with college policies, funding agency guidelines, and departmental strategic priorities
- Supporting financial monitoring of funded community research projects in collaboration with project managers and Finance
- Maintaining awareness of funding landscapes related to community innovation, social impact, applied research, and data-driven policy initiatives
- Identifying HR needs for community-led projects and participating in hiring processes for Student Researchers, Research Assistants, Research Associates, and other project personnel
- Providing day-to-day leadership, task assignment, coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation for all students and Researchers working on community research projects
- Ensuring all personnel follow research protocols, ethics guidelines, quality assurance standards, and project timelines
- Overseeing onboarding, training, workload balancing, and skills development for students and Researchers
- Ensuring that work produced by student teams is aligned with project expectations, partner requirements, and academic / professional standards
Qualifications :
Successfully completed a 4-year degree in sciences, social work, business or equivalent.Post-graduate certificate in research analytics or Research Analyst Program is required.Minimum 5 years of progressive experience leading, managing, and mentoring teams; experience within an educational institution or research environment preferred with at least 2 years direct leadership experience of community-based or social impact projectsEstablished track record of leading and delivering complex, data-driven applied research and community-based projectsDemonstrated experience conceptualizing, writing, and submitting competitive funding applications, including research design, proposal writing, budget development, evaluation planning, and knowledge mobilizationExperience developing multi-year project budgets, financial justifications, and resource planning for grants or externally funded projectsAdvanced expertise with data transformation, cleaning, feature engineering, model implementation, and performance evaluatioAbility to prepare clean, well-structured, and methodologically sound research reports that support evidence-based decision-makingExperience with data governance, data management best practices, ethical data collection, community data sharing protocols, and disseminationDemonstrated experience applying mixed-methods (qualitative + quantitative) research approaches, including community-engaged and participatory methodologiesStrong interpersonal skills to manage support staff and work with staff from different departments.Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.Why Work with Us?
