KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Reporting to the Manager, Asset Management & GIS, the System Analyst provides complex project and technical support for the City's Enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) and Asset Management technology infrastructure. Spatial data support responsibilities include developing and maintaining the GIS databases, GIS application initiatives, mapping websites, and integration of spatial data across all facets of the City. This position works closely with the Geomatics Officer and Asset Management Coordinator to provide a high caliber of customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS :
A university degree or technology diploma in a relevant discipline (i.e., geography, GIS, environmental science, software or geomatics engineering) is required, along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Enterprise Asset Management and GIS software systems and applications. Experience in enterprise systems project management is also required.
The incumbent must have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL database design, and Enterprise EAM and GIS Architecture. The ability to use critical thinking to evaluate problems, gather information, understand causes, and identify best possible solutions is required.
SALARY :
The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $120,025 and a comprehensive benefits package, including a monthly vacation travel and housing allowance – totaling $450 per month, a defined benefit pension plan, and relocation assistance.
