Position overview

We have a permanent full-time opportunity for an Asset Integrity Specialist (Mechanical) in the Baggage Operations Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Baggage Systems, the successful candidate will be responsible for defining, implementing, and managing asset management plans for a wide range of asset classes.

The individual has an engineering (or unique technical) background with strong business acumen.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Develop and execute asset management strategy including coordinating work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver and maintain assets, engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify improvement, opportunities and coordinate changes.
  • Provide engineering and technical support by conducting risk assessments, compliance audits, and technical review of process, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead safety and quality initiatives by providing support with technical and operational reviews, audit and incident investigations.
  • Identify and recommend solutions based on the results of investigations, root cause analysis and specialized studies.
  • Manage continuous improvement program, tracking system performances, against agreed key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze trends and plans for various stages of each asset lifecycle.

Key qualifications include :

  • Post-secondary degree in Applied Science, Science, Engineering or RSE Millwright with preference background study including Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) applicable to mechanical, electrical, and / or computer science disciplines.
  • Proven experience working in airport related facilities and / or industrial plant environment including asset lifecycle development and management, developing, and reviewing engineering specification and standards, conducting and facilitating field reviews and inspections.
  • Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organize and able to manage a diverse set of data and information in various media formats.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sharepoint)
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Restricted Area Identification Card and a Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification (ROC-A) to perform his or her duties in this role.

This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range : $86,326 to $112,823 per annum, based on a 40-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
