Reporting to the Technical Director, the Traffic Lead will support design and coordinate traffic requirements during construction and minimize the impact on traffic operations and temporary designs.
What You’ll Do Here :
- Assists in design and engineering of temporary works for transit department.
- Liaises with the urban leadership, ministries, municipalities and construction staff, as needed.
- Create traffic solutions based on requirements in the project agreement.
- Leads preparation of Lane Closure Reports and all other reports associated to Traffic Management for the project
- Work closely with supervisors, in monitoring traffic and transit operations and bring issues to a resolution.
- Recommend changes in signal phasing and timing, pavement markings and signage to the staff as needed.
- Work proactively to ensure that plans are in place to transition to the next phase in terms of detours, signage, pavement markings, signals and PVMS installations.
- Prepares traffic control plans based on OTM Book 7 Setups
- Participates in preparation of Traffic and Transit Management Plans (TTMP).
- Review TTMPs / TCPs submittals from designers, consultants and subcontractors
What You Bring to the Team :
Post Secondary education in Engineering.Minimum of 8 years’ working experience in urban traffic operations.Knowledge of OTM Book 7.Past experience dealing with municipalities and local stakeholders such as TTC, Metrolinx, York Region, City of Toronto.Knowledge of design and preparation cycle of Traffic &Transit Management Plans (TTMPs).Logical approach to trouble shooting and problem solving.Excellent oral and written skills.Excellent time and Project Management skills.Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).Valid class G driver license required.Reason for Vacancy : Replacement
Pay Range : $110,000 - $140,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
