All qualified candidates are welcome to apply; however, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.The Faculty of Education at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the contract position of Program Assistant - Graduate Education.ResponsibilitiesThe Program Assistant provides support to faculty and students within the Faculty of Education, Graduate Education programs. This position reports jointly to the Director of Graduate Education and the Dean. The Program Assistant is the first contact for faculty and students and provides communication, records management, and information among faculty members, students, the university, and external institutions. Other tasks include, but are not limited to the following : Provide support for the Graduated Education program admissions and registrations.Administrative activities associated with registration in cohort, directed and independent studies, thesis and authorized external courses.Assist with arrangements for information sessions and orientations, both on and off-campus.Support Graduate Education Committee meetings with scheduling, agendas and, record of minutesProcess research assistantships for faculty and students, including monitoring assistantship budget.QualificationsA 2-year Community College diploma in Office or Business Administration or a similar program, with 2 years of related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Previous experience in an academic environment is considered an asset. Effective communication skills and strong inter-personal skills are essential. A high level of attention to detail while handling frequent interruptions is also a prerequisite in this position. Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and web maintenance (e.g. SharePoint) is required. Efficient time management and priority setting skills are also required. Supporting all of these skills is a strong commitment to excellent customer services. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, and previous experience, using business enterprise systems such as Colleague, Banner, PeopleSoft, etc.Classification : 12 Month, Full-time Temporary Contract PositionSalary : $41,636 per annum Start Date : ASAPApplication Process : If you require accommodation at any time during the application process, please let us know.
