• North Region - North Bay and Surrounding Areas East Region - Sundridge, South River and Surrounding Areas West Region - Parry Sound and Surrounding Areas The Educational Assistant duties of this position are likely to include, but are not limited to, working with students with autism, behavioural exceptionalities, physical and developmental disabilities. The position will involve working as a team member in a special education program, delivering alternative program goals, therapy goals, sensory breaks, toileting support, communication needs, and outings. Qualifications : Two-year post-secondary certificate or diploma in the social services field Knowledge / Skills Required : Experience working with a variety of student exceptionalities including but not limited to : medically complex, autism, developmental disabilities and physical disabilities Broad knowledge of a variety of support strategies including ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis), Behaviour Management Systems, CPS (Collaborative Proactive Solutions) and Augmentative Communication Demonstrated ability to effectively support students in transition and / or implement programming in consultation with classroom teacher, central behavioural support team and respective therapists i.e. speech, sensory, occupational, physiotherapy Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a school-based team Rate of Pay : $20.80 plus 4% vacation pay and applicable statutory holiday pay All applicants must be eligible to work in Canada The Near North District School Board is committed to supporting an inclusive and accessible environment.
