Exploration Manager
Amarc Resources Ltd. ( Amarc or the Company ), an HDI associated Company, is looking for an experienced Exploration Manager to fulfill a key role in the Company’s accomplished and successful exploration, development and transaction team.

Amarc is a leading, British Columbia-focused copper-gold junior exploration and development company with a Corporate Office in downtown Vancouver, BC.
Through a combination of strong projects, financial backing, a commitment to the communities in which it works, and an experienced and successful management team, Amarc has created a solid platform on which to build shareholder value.
Amarc’s goal is to discover, develop and transact BC’s next generation of copper-gold mines.
Amarc has three copper-gold projects the JOY District, the DUKE District and the IKE District each hosts one or more copper deposits that are open to expansion and multiple drill ready deposit targets.
During 2024, Amarc completed at least $23 M of drilling and other exploration across all three Districts, with up to 5 rigs drilling important scale deposit targets.
Funding partners include Freeport-McMoRan and Boliden at the JOY and DUKE Districts, respectively, and Amarc is self-funding activities at the IKE District.
Amarc operates all three projects.
Hunter Dickinson Inc. ( HDI ) is a private and diversified, global mining group characterized by the commitment and drive of its founders.
Over HDI’s 35-year history it has discovered, developed and transacted 12 projects globally, that have been or are currently being mined.
THE POSITION :
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Exploration Manager role is an extremely important and visible leadership role that will co-ordinate the Company’s exploration activities across all Amarc’s Districts, working collaboratively alongside senior management, the Company’s highly experienced technical and operational teams and funding partners.
This is a critical role in a fully funded and driven team with the opportunity to collaborate with and present to a variety of audiences.
Key Position Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate an extremely high level of organizational skills and oral / written communication abilities to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Work with senior management to develop exploration budgets and actively track budget compliance.
- Oversee and manage the delivery of approved technical work programs.
- Be willing to spend time in the field, providing input and leadership to advance projects in a timely manner.
- Provide technical input to the Exploration Team including review, development and maintenance of best practice exploration techniques and protocols.
- Ensure appropriate collection, maintenance and storage of highest quality data and constant monitoring of the data collection process to ensure it meets all required standards for reporting.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and advancements in mineral exploration.
- Assist senior management in the presentation and transfer of data to funding partners.
- Foster and maintain two-way communication between the Exploration and Operations Teams to develop effective exploration methodology.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations Team to ensure program efficiencies, compliance and support in respect of :
- Health & Safety
- Environment
- Permitting
- Contractor Agreements
- Support the Lands Lead in tenure maintenance.
- Assist the Human Resources team in recruitment and required training.
- Work with senior management and the Operations Team to coordinate with regulatory agencies and local communities to ensure compliance and foster positive relationships.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE :
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mineral exploration, with a proven track record in collaborative leadership of exploration projects, working on projects in the office and the field.
- A driven and fast learner, who is motivated, results orientated, able to work under minimal supervision and manage several priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to take ownership of and be accountable for Exploration outcomes.
- Strong, practical knowledge of drilling and geological mapping, geophysical and geochemical survey techniques.
- Experience with financial management in an exploration setting.
- Familiarity with mining regulations and health, safety and environmental guidelines in British Columbia.
- Demonstrated skill in written and verbal communication, critical thinking, data analysis, problem solving and time management.
- Ability to confidently distill and present information appropriately to various audiences.
- Ability to set clear objectives and goals, monitor progress, measure performance and evaluate results.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in geological software and data management systems.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Asset Qualifications :
- M.Sc or PhD in Geology or Earth Sciences.
- Project Management certification and / or experience.
- Registered as a PGeo. or P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or ability to register in BC.
