Recreation Services Coordinator
(18-month term)
The Town of Slave Lake is seeking a dynamic person with a background in customer service and supervision.
Reporting directly to the Manager of Recreation and Community Relations, this individual will be responsible for providing the Community Services Department with reception support and coordinating the effective scheduling of all jointly municipally managed recreation facilities. This position requires work in the afternoon, evening, and on weekends.

SALARY :
$26.66 - $33.59 per hour ($51,987.00 - $65,500.50 per annum)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Complete all facility booking and scheduling duties, including user meetings as required.
- Complete invoicing for Community Services Department programs, facilities, and services in coordination with Finance.
- Book special events, ensure contracts and accompanying paperwork are completed, liaise with event organizer and facility staff.
- Provide general department information and assistance, plus solve routine problems for the public and other departments regarding department operations & procedures through various communication methods.
- Communicate and work with facilities and parks staff daily
- Maintain and administer the facility management system
- Provide secretarial support for the Community Services Department.
- Coordinate appointments, meetings and other activities when required by the department, including agenda compiling and minute taking.
- Manage, operate, and maintain word processing files, records management and filing system. Research, retrieve, and compile department information as required.
- Ensure that tasks are performed safely and in compliance with applicable legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Major
Manage the scheduling of reception staff for the MRC.Supervision of full-time and part-time recreation assistant staff.Training of recreation assistant staff.Make day-to-day routine decisions according to established policies and procedures and standard office practices.Use a pleasant manner and sound judgment when dealing with the public and staff.Develop and maintain the department's clerical procedures.Assist permanent and temporary staff with issues requiring immediate attention or refer them to appropriate personnel.Exhibits discretion and confidentiality in the handling of organizational information / mattersOccasional
Attends conferences or training opportunities that are relevant to the position within approved budgetary guidelines.Receive, assign file numbers, distribute, and respond to all standard department clerical duties.Assist with correspondence, reports and other materials for the department as required.Maintain the Administrative Policy & Procedure manuals for the department as distributed from the CAO’s Office.Event support for Wildfire Legacy Centre during peak seasons, including event set up and take-downs.Update and maintain the Community group contact information.QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Grade 12 DiplomaPost-Secondary Education in Office Administration preferred.Three (3) years of related work experience.First Aid and CPR are assets.The ability to lift up to 30lbsCriminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sectors Screening.Valid Class 5 Driver's License.SKILLS REQUIRED :
