Contract Specialist

One of our clients, a major oil and gas company, has tasked us with finding a Contract Conformance Specialist (CCS) to support capital and maintenance projects on a 1-year contract based in Calgary or Edmonton, AB.

Overview:

The CCS will be responsible for sourcing and administering executed contractual arrangements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and facilitating resolution of contract-related matters. This role involves close collaboration with contractors and internal teams including legal, project management, construction, procurement, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer contracts in alignment with project execution strategies.
• Prepare purchase orders, work releases, and contract exhibits.
• Draft and review technical contract language and scope documents.
• Support contract negotiations and ensure contractor clarifications are incorporated.
• Coordinate project-specific communication plans and training.
• Monitor contractor compliance and manage documentation logs.
• Oversee change order processes and invoice reviews.
• Facilitate contract-related meetings and maintain records.
• Support contract close-out and compliance audits.
• Provide regular updates and collaborate with SCM leadership.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, legal, technical, or business discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience;
• OR Associate’s degree with 7–10 years of experience in contract administration, preferably in the energy sector.
• Skills & Experience:
• Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
• Experience with contract negotiation and administration in construction projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and Oracle.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems proactively.
• Familiarity with energy industry contracting practices.

Work Conditions:

• Based at a company office within the assigned project.
• Minimal travel may be required.
