The Manufacturing Engineer will provide support to the operation of the manufacturing plant in areas of facility systems, maintenance, production, quality and new product development and launch.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop concepts, detailed CAD models in Solidworks, engineering drawings and documentation
• Select appropriate materials, fabrication methods and off-the-shelf components
• Troubleshoot failures, perform root cause analysis and iterate designs to resolve issues
• Communicate changes / improvements made to equipment
• Works hands-on to build prototypes, test rigs and experimental set-ups
• Collaborates with the production and maintenance teams to provide day-to-day expertise / technical support with a focus on safety, reliability and cost reduction
• Troubleshoot problems that arise in production related to production, support and facility equipment
• Develop, lead and support capital improvement projects including new equipment purchases, equipment upgrades, and automation
• Contribute to project management : activity planning, schedule tracking, risk management, progress reporting, and adherence to safety, people, quality, delivery and cost objectives
• Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, legislation and applicable codes
• All other duties as assigned

Work Environment :

This job operates in a production manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard production equipment.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :

Salary, primarily 8 hours / day, Monday to Friday. However additional hours may be required occasionally, including after-hours support for a 24 / 7 manufacturing operation.

Travel :

Occasionally - ability to travel within and outside of Canada.
