What Would You Do?

Palliser Furniture Ltd. is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Foamshop 3 (bandsaw Cutting Operator). The successful candidate will be part of the packing team and contribute to the efficiency of our operation.

The duties and responsibilities of this position would include :

  • Operate band saw cutting machine to cut foam from bun size to required foam size as per requirements
  • Be able to read and understand foam cutting report with basic knowledge in measuring width, depth, and height sizes.
  • Ensure processes and systems are being followed properly and that paperwork is filled out accordingly and accurately and forwarded in a timely manner.
  • Having the ability to interpret production schedules and make sound decisions regarding the priority and timing of parts to be cut.
  • Organizing and controlling foam off-cut with 5S housekeeping methodology.
  • Participating in continuous improvement, quality of cut product, production issue resolution, and cost reduction.
  • Other foam-related projects as requested by management.
  • Able to support other departments if needed.

  • Experience using Olfa utility knife, screw gun, tape gun, and lift table.
  • Ability to stand, crouch, bend, reach, and stoop for long periods of time.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, as this position requires lifting, bending, and moderate physical exertion.
