Reporting to the Lead, Financial Administration Support Team(FAST) this position provides support to Research Centres in IndustrySolutions. Specifically, this position will facilitate all research andinnovation activities in the Centre by leading, coordinating, tracking,managing and finalizing administrative details, reporting and financialmanagement of grants. Our successful candidate will provide the Lead with ahigh degree of assurance that the Centres has performed the necessary duediligence to meet funders’ expectations. This position is critical tosupporting the successful growth of Industry Solutions.
KeyResponsibilities :
Support theresearch leads and specialists in grant application and research contractprocesses, including budgetary review and submission of approved applicationsto the Grants & Proposal team for final submission to funders / partners.
Coordinate allResearch Centre agreements, both NAIT generated and externally generatedProject Agreements.
Managerequisitions, invoices, payments, journal entries, budgets, and contractagreements.
Review charges forcompliance and eligibility with various Funder guidelines.
Coordinatemonth-end activities and meet tight deadlines.
Advise researcherson cash flow situations, providing monthly statements and projections at thegrant / project level.
Preparequantitative and qualitative reports internally and for external funders,ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.
Create detailedworking papers for in-kind contributions, including necessary agreements.
Provide planningdocuments, reports, and variance analysis to Industry Solutions Leadership.
Support Centreleadership in the preparation, tracking, and reporting of NAIT budgets forIndustry Solutions in the annual budget process.
Develop, track,and report on Capital procurement for external funders.
Coordinateinformation for internal and external auditing and reporting purposes.
Special projectsas required.
Skills& Abilities :
A strong customerservice focus, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and theability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines are essential.
Highly organizedand responsive, keen attention to detail.
Strong analyticalproblem solving.
Qualifications :
Relatedpost-secondary diploma, Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Degree ispreferred.
5 years of relatedexperience with extensive and proven financial experience.
Experience withresearch grant facilitation and management would be a strong asset.
Project managementand budget preparation / support experience required.
Advanced Excelskills required; experience with Microsoft Power Apps and PeopleSoft Financewould be an asset.
Equivalencies maybe considered.
