Job Description
The Shift Lead must carry out the established production plan, manage the premises and production equipment and can stay calm under pressure. They are often the point person for multiple parties, so they must be able to communicate with everyone effectively. The Shift Lead will provide support for process improvements and assist in controlling efficiency, quality and safety throughout the shift.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Make sure that healthy and safe conditions are upheld, and that plant premises are safe,
- Participate in establishing production objectives and action plans for the plant,
- Assign and lead team members’ work,
- Maintain the link with the management team and coordinate activities with the other departments,
- Guarantee production quality and quantities,
- Prepare reports and other plant operations-related documents,
- Participate in production planning and inventory management,
- Use the tools available to control the production of the plant,
- Solve problems encountered in the plant,
- Make sure work methods and production procedures for the plant are adhered to,
- Make suggestions on improving production processes for the plant,
- Train, advise and support team members in their work,
- Organize the reception, transfer and shipping of raw materials and finished products,
- Make sure that team members use plant equipment according to standard operating procedures,
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor / manager.
Essential Qualifications
Knowledge of the workplace Health and Safety regulations and ability to institute their practice to maintain everyone’s safety,Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics,Knowledge of operations management of a production site,Knowledge of supply and inventory management methods & production management methods,Exceptional communication skills; verbal and written,Ability to plan, organize, multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment,Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with customers, vendors, teammates and visitors.Ability to stay early or later when required to ensure supervisory duties have been completed and / or transferred to next shift.Education and Experience :
3 years of supervisory experienceHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.Leadership training / courses considered an assetPrevious manufacturing or comparative experience (preferred).Detail oriented and high level of quality expectation.Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.Language Skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English;Proficiency in Spanish and / or Filipino to interact with a diverse workforce preferred.Physical Demands :
