Nasittuq currently provides exemplary technical services to the Department of National Defence (DND) in support of operations of Canadian Forces Station Alert (CFS Alert) in Alert Nunavut.
The Opportunity :
Reporting to the HR Manager, the Senior HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in advising, leading and executing a wide variety of various HR programs and functions including labour & employee relations, HR policy management, HRIS along with other areas of HR. We are seeking an incumbent with an ownership mentality and a hands-on approach and willing to support any HR priorities ranging from administrative to taking the lead on more complex tasks.
Responsibilities :
- Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in all areas of HR including employee relations, labour relations, policy and procedures, legislation and regulations
- Support various day to day human resources functions and programs
- Deliver routine daily / weekly / monthly reports and metrics
- Oversee and execute the annual performance management and compensation process
- Monitor, review and improve internal HR systems and processes
- Conduct investigations, maintain records, deal with grievances and disciplinary action as required
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements
- Maintenance, optimization and improvement of existing HRIS
- Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate records are maintained, timely communication and efficient processes
- Participate in and / or lead various projects as requested
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years’ experience and success in a senior HR rolePrevious management / supervisory experience is preferredPost secondary education in Human Resources, CHRP designation is a strong assetSolid understanding and experience of HR legislation, regulations and employment lawDemonstrated proficiency and experience in various HRIS systems and modulesExperience in a unionized work environment preferredStrong problem-resolution skillsAdaptability and ability to work in an environment that is continually evolving to meet business needsDemonstrated strong knowledge of MS applications, strong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain trusting working relationships withal stakeholdersAdaptability and ability to manage priorities with attention to detail and work cross-culturallyAbility to attend the office 2 – 4 days per weekAll candidates must be eligible to achieve Government of Canada RELIABILITY Security Status
