Responsibilities
- Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses, manage multiple files simultaneously and conduct inventory counts
- Assist in the preparation personal tax returns, corporate tax returns, trust tax returns, partnership returns, capital dividend account elections, section 85 tax elections and other tax compliance forms
- Preparation of capital dividend account elections, section 85 election forms and other tax compliance forms.
- Research various tax-related issues and conclude on their potential implications
- Collect and analyze relevant financial and tax data
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns for various types of entities
- Assist in the preparation of tax instruction letters, technical memorandums and client reporting letters and documentation to support a working paper file
- Collaborate with client engagement team and build relationships with client contacts
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes while effectively using MNP internal programs and systems
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
Skills and Experience
Completion of, or working towards, a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred)Completion of, or working towards, prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) upon commencement of employmentPrevious tax and accounting-related office experience is considered an assetCustomer service and / or client service experience is considered an assetComputer skills that relate to programming or artificial intelligence is an assetExperience working with accounting and tax software is considered an assetThe Annual salary range for this position is $45,000 to $65,000
