Job description

Job Summary :

The Workshop Facilitator plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality workshops focused on employment readiness, settlement support, and skills development for immigrant women, BIWOC, and other marginalized groups. The Facilitator will design and deliver engaging, tailored content that meets the diverse needs of program participants, fostering their successful integration into the workforce. This role includes a critical focus on participant recruitment, ensuring each cohort is filled with motivated individuals who will benefit from and contribute to the program’s success.

Key Responsibilities :

Workshop Design and Delivery

Develop, plan, and deliver dynamic workshops on topics such as resume writing, interview preparation, workplace communication, cultural adjustment, and other employment-related skills.

Tailor workshop content to accommodate diverse learning styles, cultural backgrounds, and client needs.

Stay informed about emerging industry trends and best practices to improve workshop content continuously.

Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants to engage and learn effectively.

Cohort Recruitment

Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract participants for each program cohort.

Conduct outreach through community organizations, social media platforms, and local events to build awareness of the program.

Screen and interview potential participants to assess eligibility, needs, and program fit.

Maintain strong relationships with referral partners to ensure consistent participant enrollment.

Client Engagement and Support

Build strong rapport with program participants, providing guidance and encouragement to foster their personal and professional development.

Act as a liaison between participants and other staff members to address client needs and concerns.

Support participants in developing personalized career plans and achieving their employment goals.

Program Coordination

Collaborate with the Program Manager and other team members to ensure workshops align with overall program objectives.

Coordinate workshop schedules and logistics, including venue setup, technology needs, and materials preparation.

Collect and track participant attendance and engagement metrics.

Support data collection efforts for program evaluation and reporting purposes.

Feedback and Continuous Improvement

Gather participant feedback through surveys, focus groups, and informal conversations.

Use feedback to refine and enhance workshop content and delivery.

Monitor program outcomes and adjust strategies to address emerging participant and community needs.

Outreach and Stakeholder Engagement

Represent the organization at local events, networking sessions, and community meetings to promote the program.

Develop partnerships with employers, community organizations, and training providers to expand participant opportunities.

Actively contribute to the organization’s mission to create an inclusive workforce and address systemic barriers to employment.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience in workshop facilitation, adult education, or training delivery.

Strong understanding of employment readiness topics and barriers faced by immigrant women and BIWOC.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Experience with recruitment, outreach, and community engagement.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Multilingual skills and experience working with diverse populations are assets.
