Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the co-planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a wide range of activities and provocations for children utilizing individual and group interests in the program room, with-in The Club and in the community with a focus on school readiness and physical literacy.
- Ensure a focus on fun, stimulating, and safe experiences for all children by supervising children in designated areas using all available resources and areas of the Club.
- Ensure the personal delivery of high quality programs and services.
- Effectively address members concerns and complaints immediately if possible, and take to Team Lead / Director when needed.
- Actively contribute to department teamwork, relationship building, and collaboration
- Collaborate with co-workers to provide exceptional service and consistent routines.
Qualifications :
Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, with a preference to Level 3 ECECurrent certification in First Aid / CPR “C” / AED. Childcare First Aid / CPR is an assetA minimum of two years’ experience working in a Licensed Child Care, or Out of School Care ProgramKnowledge of and ability to implement AB Flight Curriculum combined with traditional program planning and adjust planning to enhance the children’s interests and unique learning experiencesKnowledge of child development and skilled in the implementation of positive, proactive behavior guidance and management strategiesAbility to walk 3km daily for Out of School Care pick-ups at the nearby school and participate in physical activities that include creative movement, yoga, pool play and swimming lessons, racquet sports, bowling, and outside excursionsEnsures adherence to specific area operating policies, programs and / or procedures, which shall be consistent with the Club’s general policies and understand all aspects of Alberta Childcare Licensing Acts and Regulations, Alberta Heath Regulations and City of Calgary Fire CodesWhy choose us :

This is a full time position that reports to the Licensed Program Team Lead and Childcare Director. The successful candidate will be required to work through the months of September to June, Monday to Thursday 10 : 30am – 6 : 00pm and Fridays 10 : 00am-3 : 00pm with longer shifts required on PD days. During the months of July and August flexibility is offered to work in Childcare, Youth & Teen Programs, or take July and August off as an unpaid summer break.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check including a vulnerable sector check or have a current clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check dated within 6 months. Completion of Respect in the Workplace and Respect in Sport online certifications prior to commencing employment.
