Service Technician Level 3
Having demonstrated an ability to advance within the Field Service department or having prior experience sufficient for this position, the Field Service Level II position responsibilities will include various levels of ability in the functions of a Field Service Technician.
A Level III Tech will be capable of servicing a considerable level of equipment types and models and maintain a high ability in secondary skillsets including PLC logic controllers, Automation controls, Electrical Troubleshooting, Pneumatic and Hydraulic experience, and gains in overall personal development.
Level III technicians will continue to focus on training to advance towards a senior level position but will be fully capable of also doing field and internal work with little to no supervision.
Responsibilities for the position will include Field Service, Installation support, Training, and other related aspects concerning the equipment Sold and Serviced by Samuel Packaging Systems Group and its affiliates.

Job Responsibilities
- Proficient in Field Service activities concerning assigned relevant equipment sold by SPSG
- Responsible for continuous growth as a representative of Samuel PSG.
- Active in the advancement of products / Service marketed by SPSG
- To work directly with Sales, Marketing, and Design teams on projects, demonstrations, trials, and other market related task as assigned by supervision.
- To participate / assist in training initiatives throughout the department.
- To participate in Lean initiatives and other developmental projects.
- To hold responsibilities and be accountable for assigned field projects.
- To travel to and work remotely in customer and SPSG locations, including requirements in USA, Canada, and abroad.
- Maintain and follow paperwork and reporting guidelines.
- Manage travel schedule to minimize company costs.
- Good intercompany and customer relationships
- Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with recommended schedules.
- Professional attire and behavior in representing SPSG
- Other as assigned by Management
Skills / Experience / Education Requirements :
- Minimum Associates Degree in related Engineering field and / or technicalschoolequivalent. Other training and experience considered in certain situations.
- Favorable completion of Level II training and advancement requirements as set forth by management or experience approval certification by Manager.
- Level 2 completion of the incentivized advancement program as applicable.
- Favorable Performance evaluation history.
- A minimum of 2 Years’ experience on equipment marketed by Samuel PSG.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Field Service Technician.
- Experience in automated controls as pertaining to Strapping equipment manufactured and / or marketed by SPSG.
- Maintain a continued willingness to learn and participate in departmental initiatives.
- Capable ofinterpreting, and troubleshooting blueprints, electrical, pneumatic / hydraulic schematics.
- Demonstrated abilityto handlestressful and challenging situations.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to make acceptablejudgment calls and decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to provide goodcommunication bothverbaland written asrequired.
- Demonstrated ability to be a Self-motivatedindividual thatcanworkwellwith others or withlittleto no direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability tobe detail orientedandreliabletomaintaincustomerequipment.
Working Conditions / PhysicalRequirements :
- Mayrequireworkingweekends,holidays, andovertime asneeded.
- Requires availabilityfor travel onshortnotice.
- Overnight travel expectation is up to 50%, but may exceed that in certain situations.
- Must be abletoworkinvarieswork conditions such asextremetemperatures, hotand cold environments
- Must be abletowork safelyaround automated equipmentwithlittletonosupervision whilefollowing allcompanyandcustomer safetypolicies.
