Functions and Duties
- Provides in-depth research consultations and public service support to students, staff, and educators, collaborating closely with librarians to deliver integrated, learner‑centred services.
- Designs, delivers, and assesses online and in‑person library instruction and learning experiences, focusing on information, digital, and AI literacy, research skills, academic‑integrity, plagiarism, citation practices, and responsible use of GenAI.
- Liaises with academic departments or areas to build relationships, deliver instruction, provide research support, conduct library resource assessments, and contribute to program review / accreditation reports while maintaining collections that meet learner and educator needs.
- Develops, curates, and maintains instructional and learning resources such as research guides, tutorials, and multi‑media materials to support independent and guided learning on research, information and digital literacy, academic integrity, plagiarism, citation, and AI tool use.
- Applies evidence‑informed approaches to assess and improve library programs and instructional initiatives.
- Collaborates with educators, educational developers, and program areas to embed library instruction and research competencies into course and program design, supporting open, accessible, and ethically grounded learning practices.
- Supports campus events, orientations, and communications, promoting library resources, services, and spaces in collaboration with librarians and staff.
- Represents Library Services at OC portfolio and department events and activities in collaboration with other non‑instructional faculty and support staff.
- Actively integrates principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility into services, instruction, and collections.
- May participate in selecting and evaluating print and electronic resources to support curricular and professional development needs in consultation with collections and metadata librarians, digital systems librarians, and departmental representatives.
- Contributes to planning and development of department and portfolio policies and procedures by participating in library and TLI portfolio committees and meetings.
- Engages in professional development to remain abreast of current and emerging trends in librarianship, professional competencies, and teaching and learning practices.
- Engages in service to the College, the profession, and / or relevant community services.
- Performs other related librarian duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Minimum qualification : Master’s degree from an accredited Master’s program in library and information studies. Desirable Experience : Recent relevant professional library experience in an academic library, including instruction and research help services or acceptable equivalent; experience teaching and leading library programming; recent experience working with international students or students whose first language is not English.

Schedule : 35 hrs / week, generally Mondays through Fridays. Some evening and weekend work may be required from time to time.
Annual Salary / Hourly Rate : Salary range $71,846 to $115,129 with normal starting salary between $78,872 and $85,897 annually, dependent on relevant education and experience.
Appointment Type : Faculty – Full‑time Term.
